JEWELRY CARE

HILDA&DIEGO jewelry is designed to accompany you for years, but as delicate pieces, they require special care to maintain their brilliance and beauty. Below, you will find recommendations for their proper maintenance.

General Care

  • Proper Storage: Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from humidity. Avoid leaving it in the bathroom or surfaces exposed to temperature changes.
  • Avoid Contact with Corrosive Agents: Skin pH, chlorine, grease, sweat, perfume, cleaning products, cosmetics, and salt can damage the finish of your pieces. We recommend removing your jewelry before:
    • Sleeping
    • Swimming in pools or the ocean
    • Exercising
    • Applying perfumes, lotions, or creams

Cleaning and Maintenance

For Silver Jewelry:

  • Clean regularly with a silver polishing cloth to prevent oxidation and maintain its shine.
  • For deeper cleaning, use a special silver cleaner, such as the one we offer at HILDA&DIEGO, designed specifically to restore the shine of your pieces without damaging them.
  • You may also rinse your silver jewelry occasionally with warm water and mild soap, drying it completely with a soft cloth.

For Gold Jewelry:

  • Gold is less prone to oxidation but can lose its shine over time.
  • Gently wipe it with a microfiber cloth or a gold polishing cloth after each use.
  • For a deeper clean, mix a few drops of mild soap with warm water and soak the jewelry for a few minutes. Then, gently scrub it with a soft-bristle brush and rinse with clean water before drying it well.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the gold finish.

Storage and Protection

  • Avoid Scratches: Handle your jewelry carefully and store each piece separately, preferably in its HILDA&DIEGO pouch or a padded jewelry box.
  • Do not store your jewelry in direct contact with wood, as it may contain acids that affect the metal's surface.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or intense artificial light, especially for jewelry with natural stones, as it may alter their color.

For optimal preservation, we recommend having your pieces professionally cleaned and inspected at least once a year.
